Concept: Israeli tech startup Blink has unveiled a low-code automation platform for cloud operators. It aims to save time by expanding internal workflows to support development teams and organizations, rather than individual scripts, by replacing them with a centralized, shared workspace.

Nature of Disruption: The low-code/no-code platform simplifies DevOps workflows with automated playbooks for hundreds of cloud platforms including AWS, Big Panda, Kubernetes,  Datadog, GitHub, and Slack. With a collection of playbooks for conducting common cloud automation activities, it can assist enterprises in overcoming security challenges. Users can develop workflows that automatically address basic concerns by integrating the platform with major cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and security applications. With workflow apps, businesses can operate smartly by automating day-to-day operations, new user onboarding, scheduled jobs, and real-time visibility. Leveraging automated security checklists, threat intel enrichment, and incident response workflows for popular security tools, users can identify vulnerabilities quickly. For troubleshooting checklists, alert enrichment, auto-remediation, and on-call processes, it generates multi-step playbooks. Moreover, by combining a self-service catalog for coworkers with playbooks that begin approval flows, authorization requests, and customer support operations, the platform helps companies to get fewer work tickets.

Outlook: Cloud computing adoption has increased among organizations in the past years. Cloud-native apps are decentralized and difficult to manage, which necessitates a lot of manual labor, programming, and connectors. Cloud operations teams require a scalable and quick method of managing cloud services, infrastructure, and security. However, day-to-day operations are still a problem, causing substantial constraints for development teams as well as risky, compounding technical debt. These challenges are addressed by Blink’s low-code and no-code future for cloud operations. With low-code and no-code automation that expands internal operations workflows to support development teams and organizations, the platform lets DevOps, SREs (site reliability engineering), and SecOps teams work more efficiently. In March 2022, Blink raised $26M in a seed and Series A financing round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. It plans to utilize the funds to expand its product and engineering teams, as well as develop a new online community for DevOps professionals and continue to add more integrations.
