At the intersection of movement and momentum is ’MVTM’, the latest product brand and pioneering venture introduced by MAS Matrix. Bringing together fashion, functionality and sustainability, MVTM aims to revolutionise the role of athleisure in the world of apparel. This fashion-forward product line meets the distinct needs of the modern consumer and is designed for adapting with the wearer as they adapt to their own environment.

In an industry where athleisure has played a pivotal role, especially over the past few transformative years, three critical elements help Matrix raise the bar for athleisure through MVTM.

Functionality

These products are more than a fashion statement. They function to meet the needs of wearers; offering the comfort of loungewear, the support of activewear or the structure of athleisure and work wear. The garments incorporate body mapping technology with unique material compositions for specific zones. This makes movement easier, with targeted support and comfort for distinct areas. The essentials product range is designed to fit and adapt to a range of body shapes, supporting weight and movement where needed. Outer layers are knitted to be light and breathable or thick and warm for different climates. The garments can also be knitted to shape and the knit is designed to minimize seams, allowing the product to be free-flowing. This seamless comfort is complimented with a range of materials, patterns and styles.

Fashion

MVTM’s collection not only exudes functionality but introduces unique and trendsetting styles. These edgy, sophisticated outfits effortlessly adapt to various occasions and environments, whether it’s powering through an invigorating cardio session or immersing oneself in a passion project. The fashion-forward designs easily fit into a dynamic and versatile routine of urban social life. With its unique offerings, such as open-back mesh tank tops and graphic jacquard-designed hoodie and jogger sets infused with one-of-a-kind patterns and premium materials, this collection is well-thought-out and distinguishes itself within its category.

Sustainability

Reducing the carbon footprint within the garment manufacturing process has always been a challenge but has remained a part of the groupwide sustainability strategy of MAS Holdings, the parent company of Matrix. In line with this strategy, known as the MAS Plan for Change, Matrix believed in integrating sustainability into the foundation of MVTM. Matrix’ unique ‘knit to shape’ technology essentially knits garments into their exact end-shape, thereby reducing 18%-22% of pre-consumer waste generated within the usual cut-and-sew operation. To deliver more sustainable alternatives to its customers, MVTM takes it a step forward, with 77% of its collection being composed of either recycled post-consumer waste, natural items (cotton, hemp), or biobased fabrics (modal, Tencel, hemp).

“At the core of MVTM lies the brand identity, captured in an acronym,” said Arun Gananathan, head of Marketing at Matrix. “M for modern and contemporary designs. V – embracing the excitement of versatile lifestyles. T – for the cutting-edge trends we are setting in fashion and M – for movement, propelling us forward, ahead of the industry.”

“The MVTM font follows the feel and structure of contemporary architecture, which is the source of inspiration for the design team at Matrix” added Arun. “With its unique and innovative capability, this collection can be leveraged by apparel brands and tailored to develop their own lifestyle-centric clothing.”

MAS Matrix is a flat-knit apparel manufacturing facility that brings knitting capability from yarn to finished goods under one roof. From its early days of knitting shoe uppers, Matrix has come along a transformative journey, leading to this cutting-edge brand that is MVTM. This journey has taken Matrix from housing 1700 Stoll flatbed machines, solely dedicated to producing footwear uppers, to emerging as a prominent athleisure manufacturer by utilizing the same machines for sweaters, headwear, jackets, inner and outer layer products and more, for industry giants such as Nike, Gym Shark, Decathlon, Victoria’s Secret, STOKO, Vouri, and Lacoste.

The introduction of MVTM is a demonstration of MAS Matrix’s capability through flat knit, as well as the team’s dedication to fostering innovation, championing sustainability, and delivering garments that effortlessly conform to the ever-changing needs of consumers’ active lives. Through its distinctive amalgamation of fashion, functionality, and sustainability, MVTM is well-positioned to create a significant impact on the future of athleisure.
