US: Actress Eva Longoria named as face of Bebe Sport

Ladies' wear firm Bebe Stores has appointed award winning actress Eva Longoria as the first face of its Bebe Sport brand.

Longoria will take on the role starting in spring/summer 2007.

"This marks the first-ever advertising campaign for Bebe Sport, signalling the growth and evolution of the brand," said founder and chairman Manny Mashouf.

"She is dedicated to fitness, has a great sense of style and we are looking forward to her valuable input into our Bebe Sport product", said CEO Greg Scott.

Longoria is most widely known for her portrayal of Gabrielle Solis in the hit television series 'Desperate Housewives,' which has so far been broadcast in 208 different countries.

Launched in fiscal 2003 to expand Bebe's customer base, Bebe Sport sells a range of casual/active lifestyle fashion.

There are currently 48 Bebe Sport stores in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.

Bebe currently operates a total of 258 stores under various nameplates.
