Denim trade fair Denim Première Vision is to become a roving event that will alternate between Paris and another European destination.

The first edition of 2018 will be in Paris in May, followed by a second one in London in December, where exhibitors will be able to meet with fashion brands that use the indigo fabric to create contemporary denim collections.

Organisers note that denim is now a multi-community product, far removed from its historic vintage codes, and has rejoined the seasonal fashion market in terms of creation and product development.

As such, a shorter time to market, a continual development process, and capsule collections typical of fashion brands now apply to the denim industry, with much tighter creation and production schedules.

The Denim Première Vision event format has been completely overhauled to take into account the needs of the entire denim value chain and its players.

As well as showcasing creative developments and technological innovations, there will be a denim trends area, seminars, analysis and guidance on the season’s trends.

Bringing the dates forward to December is also intended to meet the supply chain needs of fashion brands and correspond to final pre-production adjustments to collections.

The line-up will include weavers, components and accessories manufacturers, clothing manufacturers/denim washers/finishers.

Denim Première Vision will take place at the Parc Floral de Paris on 23-24 May 2018; and at the Old Truman Brewery in London on 5-6 December 2018.
