  • 15 Sri Lanken workers protesting for higher wages have been taken into custody by the Jordanian Police. The workers who had opposed the move of returning to work reportedly attacked the workers who had agreed to go back to work without a wage increase. DAILY NEWS 
  • Australian exports of cotton and imports of truck tyres heading to mines could be hit by industrial action which began at two east coast ports. The stoppage at Brisbane will hit eight ships carrying 7,150 containers, while 12 ships and 16,400 containers will be hit if the dockers do not go back to work this week. REUTERS 
  • Textile Technologies Group (South Korea) will organise production of ready fabrics and ready-made garments in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan in 2011-2013. Within the project, Korean company plans to invest US$60m to creation of textile plant in Uzbekistan. The capacity of the enterprise will make up 6,000 tonnes of cotton yarn, 7.5m square metres of cotton yarn and 5m units of ready-made garments a year. UZDAILY.COM
