The collaboration is designed to connect verified upstream supply chain data directly to individual products using smart labelling. The move aims to address increasing regulatory demands in Europe and other markets.

The new arrangement will also integrate Trimco Group’s labelling, packaging, RFID and data offerings with Retraced’s supply chain intelligence platform. This integration will enable brands to manage product and supplier information throughout the chain, from sourcing to finished goods.

Brands using the joint system can attach QR codes, generated by Trimco Group, to their products. By scanning these codes, consumers, retailers and regulators can access detailed and structured information about a product’s journey and sourcing.

Depending on client requirements, this data will be visible either via Trimco Group’s Digital Manager with ProductDNA or through Retraced’s platform.

The alliance specifically aims to support compliance with both current and emerging regulations, such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation.

The companies state that bringing verified supply chain data to the product level serves not only regulatory compliance but also transparency needs across the sector.

Trimco Group sustainability and compliance director Camilla Mjelde said: “Transparency only creates value when it is accessible, structured, and connected to the physical product. By integrating our ProductDNA platform and labelling expertise with Retraced’s upstream traceability technology, we are making it significantly easier for brands to turn complex supply chain data into clear, credible product information.”

Retraced’s platform supports brands with supplier mapping, data management, claim validation, and network collaboration.

This system ensures that verified supply chain and product data can be checked in real time through QR codes provided on the product, improving compliance and information sharing among stakeholders.

Retraced’s policy compliance and partnerships director Roman Houlbreque added: “Supply chain data on its own doesn’t create value if it stays in disconnected systems. Brands need to bring that information to the product level in a way that is usable for compliance and communication. By partnering with Trimco Group, we are closing that gap — linking upstream data with on-product solutions in a way that is practical and scalable.”
