Supertex Group, which has worked with Digital Coats for five years, is introducing the digital planning and production system, FastReactPlan to obtain full visibility of its supply chain and improve its on-time delivery.

Supertex Group, which specialises in sports apparel for brands like adidas and Under Armour, is keen to leverage Coats Digital’s technology and industry expertise in South America and deepen its strategic technology partnership.

The FastReactPlan will provide production planning across Supertex Group’s factories in Colombia and El Salvador – which together employ more than 5,000 people and produce 1.7 million units per month.

Supertex Group CEO Eduardo Herrera said: “In a very short time, digitisation went from being a competitive advantage to being an indispensable requirement.”

He added: “The implementation of an ambitious strategy of process modernisation will separate the winners from the losers in our industry.”

The FastReactPlan project includes detailed planning of the company’s four factories as well as the management of product and material development, which will allow Supertex to have global visibility of its full supply chain, identify potential problems in a timely manner and improve the performance in all its facilities.

This new partnership is described as giving Supertex a strong foothold in the Latin American market. Coats Digital already works with other leading manufacturers in the region to support their digitisation journeys and reinforce their competitive status in the global apparel industry.

Supertex Group started its journey with Coats Digital in 2016 by adopting the company’s GSDCost system, which is described as the international standard for garment cost optimisation and sustainable manufacturing.

The sports apparel company implemented the system to improve its cost accuracy and standardise its sewing operation.

“After being GSDCost users for some time, we are excited that Supertex continues to see Coats Digital as a strategic technology partner for the future,” said Oscar Gonzalez, Coats Digital’s agent in Latin America.

He added: “With the implementation of FastReactPlan, and the continued engagement of our experts in the region, we are proud that Coats Digital can support the continued growth of Supertex Group through market-leading technology solutions and process excellence.”

Projects director for Supertex, Daniel Herrera pointed out: “The highly intuitive nature of FastReactPlan, coupled with the ability to integrate different elements of the supply chain in a single solution, will enable us to make intelligent, informed decisions.”

He added: “This partnership will also allow us to tap into the experience of the Coats Digital team, as well as its proven solutions, to help standardise our processes and to implement industry best practices.”
