What is thought to be the first ever in-depth skills study conducted specifically for the apparel industry has been launched in a bid to identify changes in skills and training throughout the entire supply chain.
Alvanon, along with supporting apparel organisations including the American Apparel & Footwear Association, the Council of Textile & Fashion, The Textile Institute, and the International Apparel Federation, is conducting the skills survey to help understand current business priorities for learning and development.
It has been launched in response to the forces of technology, globalisation and shifting consumer values, as well as increasing pressure to deliver product better, faster, smarter – all of which mean organisations are facing unprecedented skill gaps and a changing context for how skills are acquired.
The results will also be used to help inform talent development, business strategies, and address specific skills that employees need to learn.
The insight garnered from the industry’s apparel leaders will be published in 2018 in a State of the Industry report.
The survey is intended for anyone in the apparel industry, including: senior executives, human resources leaders, L&D or training leaders, department managers, and employees.
