JD Sports accelerates US expansion with $1.08bn Hibbett acquisition

British sportswear retailer JD Sports Fashion Plc has revealed it is acquiring the “highly complementary” US athletic-fashion retailer Hibbett, Inc. for about $1.08bn to speed up its US expansion and enhance its presence in “the world’s biggest and most attractive sportswear market.”
