Resolute that competitive sports should be inclusive for everyone, MAS’ performance wear capabilities extend to adaptive clothing.

Tharushi Karunaratne clinched Sri Lanka’s only gold medal in the Women’s 800m event at the Asian Games this year. She raced her way to victory, securing the Gold and setting a new Asian record. And for Sri Lanka athletics, it didn’t end there. Dilhani Lekamge claimed silver in the Women’s Javelin Throw, while the Sri Lanka Men’s and Women’s 4x400m relay teams secured bronze medals at the games.

Among those rooting for the athletes was the team at Bodyline, who designed and manufactured the game-day kits worn by Tharushi and her teammates. As these athletes crossed the finish line, they wore garments that were made using seamless bonding technology that maximizes comfort for better performance. Bonding helps eliminate the irritation and discomfort of traditional sewn seams, something athletes should not be distracted by on the field. The fabric used is ultra-lightweight and incorporates moisture-wicking material, keeping wearers dry and comfortable at their peak performance. Body mapping technology is used to monitor high perspiration zones and a specially modified, breathable material is used for sweat absorption.

Going beyond designing and manufacturing, Bodyline also partnered with the Sri Lanka Athletics Association on its journey to the 2024 Paris Olympics and has been the official clothing sponsor for the Sri Lankan Athletics team since 2022.

Bodyline is just one subsidiary of the global apparel manufacturer, MAS Holdings, recognized as a pioneering force in the world of sports and performance wear. The diverse product capabilities across the group have expanded MAS’ performance wear range, from game-day and training kits to sports bras and adaptive wear for athletes with disabilities.

Design teams study the climate conditions of the playing field and combine that insight with body intricacies such as heat zones and sweat glands to develop clothing with varying ventilation levels.

Products made at MAS KREEDA for some of the biggest events we know are regularly in the news, donned by Olympians. One such product is a high-tech sports bra made with expertise in sustainable engineered knit and is built to offer support in all the right places. The bra incorporates ultra-stretchy, curve-hugging fabric adjustable to changing sizes while smooth, soft-covered side seams are made for comfort during prolonged wear. The bra’s sweat-wicking technology and carefully placed openings provide optimal airflow, keeping athletes cool and dry, no matter how intense the workout.

MAS KREEDA has collaborated with the world’s leading athletes to engineer innovative products, including performance kits and medal stand kits for Olympic teams. Redefining the activewear landscape for women, they created leak-proof biker shorts and versatile bodywear solutions, that dominate key franchises globally.

MAS Active, whose jerseys featured in the Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cup, conducts extensive research to design engineered performance wear for national teams. The design teams study the climate conditions of the playing field and combine that insight with body intricacies such as heat zones and sweat glands to develop clothing with varying ventilation levels and quick evaporation.

MAS Active’s research and development (R&D) also led to the development of game day kits for multiple men’s and women’s grand slam-winning tennis players, whose kits were modified extensively, catering to the unique climatic needs of each grand slam for maximum comfort and mobility of the player.

As these athletes crossed the finish line, they wore garments that were made using seamless bonding technology that maximises comfort for better performance.

Resolute that competitive sports should be inclusive for everyone, MAS’ performance wear capabilities extend to adaptive clothing. Through the brand, Lable by MAS, incubated at Linea Aqua; this apparel manufacturer partnered with the Sri Lanka National Paralympic Committee to create clothing that not only supports persons with disabilities but is rigorously tested at the highest levels of performance.

The Easy-On Zipper Front Sports Bra, for instance, boasts a front zipper and an extended pull tab, for easy wearing, even for those with limited upper body mobility. The Easy-On Active Short with high-stretch fabric at the back, allows for natural and comfortable stretching in a seated position. Both these garments continue to be worn by Sri Lanka’s national para-athletes, whose insight and feedback on the performance of the garments enables the teams at MAS to refine and upgrade the product.

These easy-on/off solutions grant athletes with disabilities the independence to dress, which in turn helps them focus on their performance, knowing their clothing works with them, not against them. MAS is also the official clothing sponsor of Sri Lanka’s National Para Athletics team which won 11 medals including 2 Golds at the recent Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.

MAS Holdings is an innovator and co-creator of enhanced performance wear catering to diverse consumer groups. From the running track to the court, MAS’ creations are worn by professional athletes, teams and recreational athletes worldwide.
